Biography

Alison R. Mullins, attorneyAlison Mullins was born and raised in Shelton, Connecticut.  She attended Southern Connecticut State University and graduated magnum cum laude with her Bachelors of Science in Political Science in 2002, with a minor in Psychology.  In 2005, Alison received her J.D. from the Ralph R. Papitto School of Law at Roger Williams University where she was a Ralph R. Papitto Scholarship recipient.

Alison was admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2006, and her membership to the District of Columbia Bar is presently pending.  Prior to joining Hughes & Associates, Alison worked at a leading architectural firm in Virginia where her primary focus was on contracts and construction law.  Alison has researched and managed a multiplicity of pre-claims, claims, settlement negotiations and legal issues for corporations covering a wide variety of legal areas, including construction litigation, real estate disputes, employment contract disputes, monetary defaults, and corporate formation.

Alison also has extensive experience in negotiating, revising, and writing an array of contracts, including American Institute of Architects, construction, development, loan, bill of sale and asset purchase agreements; fostering positive environments for alternative dispute resolution; and maintaining soft intellectual property rights.

Alison is a member of the American Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia State Bar’s Construction and Public Contracts Sections and the Northern Virginia Women Construction Attorneys.  (Alison’s Curriculum vitae is available upon request.)
